This blog has always been a bit ecclectic as it reflects the interests of its author. You might stop by and read a serious discussion of geo political or military matters but you might just as easily find song lyrics or a recipe for an MRE ham sandwich. My posts have been heavily slanted toward music lately, both mine and others, because that’s what has been occupying most of my time. THis will be the last post in that vein for a while because it gets annoying to hear endless carping about a product that you don’t want or can’t have at the moment. So after this post I will split the music players on the site to the “B-Sides Player” and the “Straight To Tape” player. Both will rotate songs. The B-Sides will continue to play unknown and fresh artists that I like and the “Straight to Tape” player will continue to play the extremely rough versions of my songs or versions that are below the quality that one will find on mixed & mastered commercial CD’s.

I am currently working on two albums and I frankly don’t know which I’ll release first. Both will be released under my own label “Bindlestiff Records” and be available late this year and/or early next year. What I am finishing work on now is my Demo that will get shopped around to booking agents for live gigs. It may not be financially feasible to release it, though I might do so anyway.

Anyway, the first album will be similar to the style that is currently running in the B-Sides player and will feature a lot of music that I wrote either during or about my “rougher” years.

The second album is a concept album dealing with September 11th. It’s 11 songs from 9 perspectives each dealing with the events of the day. It’s not political or exploitative, but just seeks to tell eleven stories from nine people dealing with the events of the day.

So with that I’ll get back to writing more about things and less about me.

You get lots of applause from me for taking a risk and going for your dream. I’ll be interested to see how things go and I’m sure my arm will be twisted to try out your music. **grin** Not until after I move though.

    You making a move?

  3. on 16 Aug 2005 at 3:30 pm toni

Uh. Yup. I close on the sale of my house on Aug. 24th, the movers come in the 25th and I’m going to TN. I bought a place in June. It’s a bit south of Franklin. I’m going to be in transition for about 2 or 3 weeks cause 1) have to come back to MN for the P’s 60th Wedding Anniv. 2) Need to pick up all my house plants and 3)My employer can’t quite decide on a new hire. I think I’m going to do a hard cut-off though. Seems as though I’d just be enabling them to use me. **grin**.

I can’t wait. I’ll make sure I buy an album. I humble suggestion for an album title, later on: “The B-Sides” for all of your loyal fans here at the blog.
