Calling all Devils

Any active duty Devils in Baggy Pants (that’s the Devil Brigade - 1st Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division) I could use your help. I have a book written just after WWII by a 1st Brigade alumnus who went through the North African and Itallian campaigns, Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge, only to die of cancer in 1947. I got the book about 7 years ago at a yard sale here in Washington State. So what you say? Well, the book is titled Those Devils in Baggy Pants, and while it was a good book and looks great next to my WWII Paratrooper Lucky Strike ads, I’m not a member of the Devil Brigade, and I think this book deserves to be back home at Ft. Bragg. I have tried several times over the past four years to donate it to the 1st Brigade, but I don’t get any response from Division PAO or the Brigade website (understandably, I hear that there are a few other things occupying paratroopers other than 50 year old books these days). If anybody has an ‘in’ over there I’m betting this book would look pretty good in the unit trophy case, especially now that the 504 should be in new barracks. At any rate, if anybody knows how to get in touch with someone at 1st Brigade I’d love to get this book back home. The copy I have is the 4th printing from 1955, the 1st edition was printed in ‘51. The author was SSG Ross S. Carter, Silver Star and Bronze Star awardee.
